Groups

Groups offer children opportunities for building motor and social skills.  Peer interaction is an important part of a child’s overall development.  Our staff understands that although participating in groups in the community can be challenging for children, it is an important skill.  Therefore, we offer the following groups:

Summer Group

We are excited to be offering Camp Milestones for our upcoming summer session. Camp Milestones will be open to kids ages three and up for all skill levels. We will be holding Camp Milestones over the course of 10 weeks. Camp Days will occur one time per week for a 90 minute session.

Camp participants will engage in a variety of activities led by a therapist focusing on having fun and interacting with peers. The camp’s weekly activities will include themes of soccer, basketball, cooking, arts and crafts, music, yoga, baseball, and other playground activities. At each session children will participate in both structured and unstructured plat schemes that encourage social interaction and skill building. Each camp will consist of 4-6 kids. Please check out the following groups for your child!

This group is appropriate for children who have limited variety or volume of foods in their diet or other oral-motor or sensory concerns that interfere with feeding. Staffed by an occupational therapist and a speech/language pathologist, this group can assist in expanding a child's diet incorporating the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach.

Please call for information regarding this group.

Handwriting Without Tears

This group is a developmentally based curriculum for writing readiness and printing. This program utilizes a multi-sensory approach in every lesson in order to reinforce all learning styles including visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic. The Milestones "Handwriting Without Tears" group provides children with strategies to learn correct letter formation in a consistent and easy-to-understand manner using child-friendly terminology and many opportunities for practice and repetition. The unique materials used with this approach help to eliminate problems with letter formation, reversals, legibility, and sentence spacing.

The Alert Program for Self-Regulation adapted from Williams and Shellenberger
