Sound Based Interventions / Therapeutic Listening

Downers Grove, IL

Sound Based InterventionsMilestones is pleased to have a team of therapists on-staff who have been trained in a variety of sound-based interventions, which use sophisticated sound-based intervention technologies in combination with the therapeutic benefits of music. When supervised by a skilled clinician, therapeutic listening intervention can be a powerful tool to assist a child in meeting their therapy goals.

Our Approach

Therapeutic Listening® programs include modulated, fine tuning and gear shifter music. Therapists use these various programming options as well as SAMONAS Sound Therapy® to design a therapeutic listening  program specific to the needs of the child and designed to address established goals.

Milestones also offers a music Lending Library, which is available to families who receive sound-based intervention and therapeutic listening services at our practice.

Sound Based Interventions
Who is a Candidate?

Auditory intervention is a valuable adjunct to therapy, particularly for children who have difficulties with sensory processing and sensory modulation. Staff members at Milestones have completed formal training in Therapeutic Listening®, Integrated Listening Systems (iLs), SAMONAS Sound Therapy® and The Listening Program®. Therapists use these programs during therapy sessions and also work closely with families to establish a listening program for daily use at home.
